Our Values
Excellence
It's not a skill, but an attitude
The motto of HIS is “excellence” without compromise. Excellence is not about how good a student is at a particular task, but rather about how committed the student is. We encourage the students to give their best at everything they do.

Respect
It's earned, not given
Students of HIS are taught to live in a manner that glorifies God. When they do that by standing for truth, striving for excellence and being compassionate and merciful, they become people who earn respect. We don’t demand respect through positions of authority. We command respect through our lives of service.

Integrity
Choice between what is convenient and what is right
The motto of HIS is excellence without “compromise.” It might be convenient and easy to cut corners – to be dishonest in just that little thing. Honesty might be costly at times. And yet, the cost is well worth paying. Because character is priceless.

Responsibility
With great power comes great responsibility
Knowledge is power. And with such power comes responsibility. To this end, the value of responsibility is embedded into all aspects of school life. From being responsible to our own things and spaces to being responsible for our bit of the work in all team projects, responsibility is practised every day in a number of ways.

Gratitude
Expect nothing appreciate everything
Studies have linked expressions of gratitude with greater happiness in life. Gratitude springs from the recognition that we do not deserve the good things we enjoy, nor are we entitled to good things in life. Everything that we have is given by grace. At HIS, we are thankful for every good gift – because every good gift comes from God.

Service
Put others above ourselves
We are blessed so that we may be a blessing to others. This is an idea that HIS believes in, and seeks to live out every day of the week.

Accountability
It's not only what we do, but also what we do not do
It is ultimately to God, our Maker that we must all finally give an account of our lives. This realization that life is lived under God motivates us to be accountable for all that we’ve been given – time, energy and resources. True accountability is about doing what we’re supposed to do and not doing the things that we aren’t supposed to do.
Perseverance
It always seems impossible until it's done
When things get difficult, the path of least resistance is to give up. But at HIS, we believe that it is only in persevering through difficulty and not giving up that one can truly grow and develop character.

Motivation
Push yourself to your limits, that's how really you grow
This is the natural outflow of perseverance. In order to persevere and achieve excellence, we believe in constant motivation – motivating oneself as well as motivating others.

Growth
Grow through what you go through
A growth mindset is essential for reaching one’s full potential. Every experience that a person goes through can be helpful fuel that helps them reach even greater heights in life.

Believe
You are born to achieve great things
We often limit ourselves by self-fulfilling prophecies and self-damaging labels that we put on ourselves. At HIS, every student is taught to believe that they have been created in the image of God for good works that he has prepared in advance for them to do. This is the core identity that helps one to believe in oneself ultimately.
