The lower secondary section comprises grades 6 to 8, with grade 8 being a bridge between the lower secondary and the upper secondary sections.
The key emphasis at the lower secondary section is TRANSITION.
Building upon the foundation laid in primary school, students delve into subjects such as Math, Science, and English, further honing their skills and knowledge in these areas. While primary school introduced abstract thought and representation of abstract ideas, the lower secondary curriculum further expands and allows students to practise doing so. They also continue their exploration of a second language (Hindi or French) and subjects such as Computer Science, Global Perspectives, and Social Sciences. Through engaging activities and events carefully planned during this stage, students have the opportunity to explore these diverse subjects, fostering an elementary understanding of each and preparing them for the challenges ahead in their academic pursuits.
The Lower Secondary Section culminates with the Lower Secondary Checkpoint Assessments, where the students are externally assessed and provided with detailed reports on how their learning has progressed in English, Math and Science.
