Christmas

The Christmas play at HIS is one of the most anticipated events every year. Putting together the best acting, singing, dancing and art talents of the students, the Christmas play conveys the Christmas message of hope and love. Every student and staff of HIS is involved in the Christmas programme. It is the annual cultural event of the school.

Sports Day

The Annual HIS Sports Day is a one-day event where the four houses of Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Amber compete against each other in various sporting events. With parents of all students being invited for the event, the day is a sporting carnival like no other.

Graduation

The completion of school life is a significant milestone for every student. At HIS, we make sure to celebrate the graduation of the 10th grade students along with their families each year. In addition to congratulating the students, at HIS we pray over the students, asking God that He would make them a blessing to the world.

S.T.E.M. Day

At HIS, we try to instil a scientific curiosity in all our students. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Day is a day to celebrate this curiosity. Students are encouraged to undertake science experiments or to build technology or engineering models that are exhibited for the entire school community. The families of the students are also encouraged to come see the work of the students and encourage their efforts.

Model United Nations (MUN)

Model United Nations is a simulation that imitates the procedures of the United Nations finding solutions for real-world problems. While it is an excellent platform for students to practise public speaking, speech writing and debate skills, for us at HIS it is a lot more. The school equips and instructs its students in academic excellence and sound Biblical understanding with the hope of raising a generation in which our students can be active global citizens, assume responsibility, assert universal rights, and maintain concern toward all human beings. At HIS, the goal of having a MUN is to help our students develop skills for an impactful Christian life lived out both locally and globally.

HIS Day

Each year on 14th July, the school celebrates the founding of HIS. It is an occasion when the entire family. Life at HIS may be short for our students, but they build relationships that we hope will last for many more years. Therefore, each year the students who have graduated from HIS are also invited to come relive the memories and reconnect with their former teachers and fellow students.

Cultural Week

Every year, HIS recognizes and celebrates the diverse cultures that are present in the country and the world. Each class focuses on a particular culture. The students learn about the culture – the dressing, the primary occupation, the cuisine, etc. On the final day, the students bring food from that culture for a class potluck party. They also go around to the other classes to learn about the other cultures that are represented in the other classrooms.

Mathapalooza

The Mathapalooza is a monthly event where students get to participate in competitions related to Math.

Bible Olympiad

The Bible Olympiad is a unique distinctive of HIS, where students learn verses from the Bible in a competitive environment. There are also other games and quizzes based on the Bible that make learning the Bible engaging and interesting.

Student Leader Investiture

HIS believes in empowering students for responsibility. At the beginning of each academic year, student leaders are invested with the responsibility for that academic year in the Investiture Ceremony.

Prize Day

The Annual Prize Day is an event where students are appreciated and awarded for their academic achievements. The awards are Academic Excellence and Merit.

Read-a-thon

HIS encourages students to read a lot of books. One of the events that encourages students to read is the Read-a-thon. Students who read more books and keep a record of their reading are awarded.

DEAR

Reading is encouraged at HIS not just in the summer or at home, but throughout the year in all contexts. The Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) is a weekly practice where students drop whatever they are doing and pick up a book and read for 10 minutes.

Literary Week

Literary Week comes around once a year and students get to participate in competitions that are literary in nature. They get to put their writing and public speaking skills to the test and engage in friendly competitions with other students.

Missions Week

Every year, the HIS family celebrates what God is doing in the world around them. The Missions Week is a time when students hear the stories of missionaries from history as well as the stories of mission workers today who continue to serve God in various different ways. It is also a time when students come together to pray for the different needs in their society, country and around the world.
